VIKING WEEK AT A GLANCE
Week of December 2, 2019
Words for the Week from Ms. Pitts
At Dimmitt we empower each other to be compassionate citizens and daring thinkers. We value innovation, leadership, and compassion.
Preparing for Hour of Code (Mario Pilapil, Umar Abdullah, Tom Flaherty)
On Wednesday, December 11th, Vikings will participate in an Hour of Code in their homeroom. Hour of Code is a time for students to gain exposure to the world of programming using a scaffolded lesson on Code.org. Students will code in their homerooms with a schedule similar to that of the i-Ready testing. We believe that this offers more Dimmitt students a productive, shared experience in an emerging field. Additionally, the district is holding a contest to see which schools.have the highest comparative student participation in hour of code. So Dimmitt, let's show the other schools how it's done!
Together, I know we will make this school year one of growth and achievement for all and YOU MATTER!!!
