Principal's Message

Dear Dimmitt Families,

I hope everyone is having a relaxing, restful summer spending time renewing relationships with and family and friends!  This is always an exciting and special time of the year as we prepare to have all of our Vikings back at school!! Thank you for all you do as parents to contribute to a very successful beginning of school.  The start of a school year is always an exciting time, not only for students, but for families and staff as well.  Whether it is welcoming our new students, staff and families or a welcome back, it is my pleasure on behalf of teachers, and staff to welcome the Dimmitt School Community to the 2018-2019 school year.

Thre is no need for school supply shopping - We charge a one-time school supply fee of $30.00 in all grade levels.  This covers all school supplies you child will need at school.  The only other supplies you will need to purchase are those for home.  You will find more information on fees on the Dimmitt website.  Please pay the fees during Viking Business Day on August 21st.

Celebrating Good Things - Please follow or school on Twitter@DimmittMS which will highlight photographs of the many good things  happening in our classrooms daily.  We also encourage you to check our school webpage on a regular basis as well to stay informed about event dates/times, testing schedules, etc.

Growing to Greatness - We will spend the first few days of school in team building activities, getting to know each other games, and in building the best habits of learning.  Our staff will be continuing homeroom this year.  The focus of the process is helping to foster strong relationships between students and between teachers and students.  We encourage you to visit with  your child and their teacher about this exciting opportunity.  There may be pieces of the process you would find helpful in utilizing at home and we are happy to share.

Power of Positive Communication - Most importantly, please know that our doors are always open and we value the opportunity to visit with our families.  Teachers are frequently available before and after school daily, as well as during their plan time.  Please schedule time to visit with your child's teachers should you have any questions or concerns - we want your child's education experience with us to be top notch and that takes teamwork between home and school.  You are their first teacher and we are pleased to have the opportunity to work with your family along this journey.

The first day of school will be here before you know it!  Here are a few key dates to help with your planning to start the year.

August ?: Viking "Business Day":  The school will be open for business including orientation for families who are new to Dimmitt Middle School.

8:00AM-2:30PM: The school will be open to ALL families for school business.  Please stop by during the day to purchase School Supplies, ASB memberships, PE uniforms and take care of other school related business.

Wednesday, August 28: First Day of School for ALL DIMMITT VIKINGS:  This is the first "official" day for all students, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.

If you have any questions about these dates or event, please contact our main office at 425-204-2801 (after August 12th). Thank you for all you do.  We look forward to a successful and rewarding year!!

Sincerely Your Partner in Learning,

Gioia Pitts

The Chromebook Protection Plan (CPP) is an optional (but strongly recommended) plan that provides an inexpensive solution for families to lessen the financial burden if an accident or theft occurs. This form must be completed to either purchase CPP or opt our of the plan.

Home Hotspot Parent/Guardian Request

If you do not have internet access in the home the district will provide you with a wireless hotsport that provides free access to the internet at home.
