Dear Dimmitt Families,
As we plan for a beginning like no other, our focus will still be to ensure that:
At Dimmitt we empower each other to be compassionate citizens and daring thinkers. We value equity, innovation, and rigor. College ready, career ready, ready to lead the future.
Spring of 2020 challenged staff and students to find a new normal for learning, connected us in new ways and required all of us to champion from afar. What I have learned through this process is how much I appreciate the expertise our staff brings to Dimmitt Middle School (DMS), the ways in which our students continue to work hard to grow and overall, appreciation for the little things in life. Normal is such a simple work and it is our goal at DMS to not only find our new normal, but to use the time spent last spring as a learning experience to launch the best online learning opportunity for ALL of DMS students.
Be Kind and Have Courage (Anne Frank) - This year's theme is: "Be Kind and Have Courage" taken from Anne Frank's 1944 diary. This should be an inspiration for all of us. The nation is dealing with not only a pandemic but social justice issues impacting equity and what we value at Dimmitt. Our resilient spirit will carry us through here at Dimmitt.
Power of Positive Communication - Most importantly, please know that we are available, and we value the opportunity to visit with our families either by phone, email, or online meetings. We want your child's educational experience with us to be top notch and that takes teamwork between home and school.
Parent Meeting - Our first parent meeting addressing our online learning planse will be August 18th beginning at 6:00PM.
